One little idea can grow big dreams.

The Country Schoolhouse was started by teachers Lauren & Jed Leggett, at Beaver Creek Farm, a 48 acre grass-fed beef farm they inherited from Jed's parents after his father passed away in 2015. They began homeschooling their son Wylie on the farm using hands-on, real life experiences. Both Jed and Lauren wanted to find a way to share the farm learning experience with others, while connecting with the local community, and so was born the idea of The Country Schoolhouse.

Educational Philosophy

Make it relevant! Students learn how to calculate angles and area in their daily curriculum, but can they take that knowledge and apply it in the real world? Could they design and build their own chicken coop or doghouse? Our goal at The Country Schoolhouse is to help kids take the information they learn in the classroom or homeschool environment and apply it as a usable skill in the physical world. We believe that all subjects are essential in developing a well-rounded individual. We want students to be able to apply their knowledge to be able to better problem solve and reason.
