How to Register & Pay for Classes
After reviewing class options, scroll down to find the teacher of your selected class or classes and click on the registration button by their name. Each teacher will handle their own registration and billing. Classes are offered as semester commitments and tuitions are listed in per semester amounts. Tuition may be paid in one upfront payment or divided into equal installment payments.

Unit Study - The Agriculture of Baseball

Students will explore the agriculture of baseball, practice concession stand math, play a baseball game on the farm, and more!

Puzzles and Games
Tuition: $120
Join us this semester as we flex our brain muscles through games and puzzles of all different kinds! We will be doing everything from brain teasers and jigsaws to game shows and board games! This class is a great way to get students thinking outside of the box while also incorporating problem solving skills.
Drama
Tuition: $200
*SHOWCASE DATES 5/9 & 5/10, STUDENTS MUST COMMIT TO BEING AT BOTH PERFORMANCES TO JOIN CLASS
We will meet once a week over the course of 8 weeks to explore and practice various areas of the theatre world, such as improvisation and character development. Through drama, we will develop oral communication skills, motivation and commitment, cooperative skills, and so much more! At the end of the two months, we will put on a small production to show off all that we have learned.
Book Club
Tuition: $120
Over the course of these eight weeks, we will be reading through an age-appropriate book together while discussing the different parts of the narrative such as conflict and solution, author’s purpose, setting, etc. We will also ask and discuss upper-level thinking questions about the story. At the end of the course, the students will put together a story board!
The Arts
Tuition: $130
In this class we will be learning all about the arts! Our primary focus will be on music and the visual arts, but we will also touch on things like theatre and even a little dancing! We will learn about different composers and artists, we will play instruments and create art pieces to take home, and so much more!

S.T.E.A.M.

Students will explore hands-on activities incorporating all elements of STEAM to provide an unforgettable learning experience. Introducing & reinforcing science vocabulary, this class will also help teach students critical thinking & problem-solving skills in a hands-on application.
Students will alternate working in groups and as an individual to solve building challenges.

Class Description: In this class, we will discuss the famous work of some scientists, successfully complete biology lab assignments, examine why science is useful, introduce how a scientist works, and explore the many divisions in Biology. I will be using the following textbook for reference: Biology: A Search for Order in Complexity 2nd edition. However, a textbook is not required for this course. **This is a continuation of the Fall Semester Biology class. The Fall Semester Biology class, however, is not a prerequisite for this course, and we will accept new students. This Class Includes: Lecture and lab for 18- 2-hour classes @ $10/hr; Lab Jacket (included in price) $16.99; Fish (Perch) Dissection - kit included in price. Yearbook/Graphic Design
Tuition: $185
Interested in photography and making memories? Want to learn about sales goals and managing deadlines? Enjoy working as a team to create something that will stand the test of time? Join Yearbook Staff and Graphic Design to help create The Country Schoolhouse's yearbook for the 2023 - 2024 school year. In this class, we will practice photography techniques, learn how to edit photos, design page layouts, and create a stand - out yearbook. Join this class, and let's continue the tradition of memorable yearbooks with The Country Schoolhouse. **This class is a continuation of the Graphic Design class that was offered in the fall, but the fall class is not a prerequisite. We are welcoming new students in the spring semester. ***Notice the time change, this class has been extended thirty minutes extra.
Future Teachers Unit Study

Interested in becoming a teacher when you grow up? Curious on what kind of learner you are? Want to prepare yourself to manage a workforce in your own business? This course is for you! Future Teachers Unit Day is an introductory course that not only gives you strategies on how to teach others but also gives you insight on how you learn.
Etiquette Essentials
Co-Teacher: Teresa Camp-Rogers
Tuition: $100
The value of etiquette never goes out of style. No matter what path you choose in the future, good manners and good behavior are timeless. In this class we will discuss the importance of etiquette, basic table manner and settings, the art of conversation, and the art of listening. An afternoon tea will conclude the semester that will give the students an opportunity to use the skills they've obtained throughout course. Because all of the teachers at The Country Schoolhouse are individual contractors, we all handle our registration process a little differently.
Ornithology Unit Study
Tuition: $40
With over 9000 species, birds are some of the most unique animals in the world. In this course, we will discuss interesting facts about birds while analyzing physical and behavioral characteristics that differentiate birds from other animal species. We will also incorporate laboratory procedures and field study techniques while conducting research on local bird species.
Wildlife Techniques Unit Study
Tuition: $40
Love wildlife? Then this class is for you! This class is a hands-on field and laboratory experience. We will practice sampling and measuring techniques as well as discuss animal behavior. So, whether you are interested in working with wildlife or preparing yourself for a future pet, this class will be a fun way to familiarize yourself academically with what it takes to manage wildlife.

Foraging

This class focuses on hands-on activities that explore the biology of the farm. We will learn what makes a farm function, from the microorganisms in the compost pile to the large cows strolling around the pasture. This class utilizes our local Conservation and Agriculture organizations to enhance the class with live demonstrations and guest speakers.
Junior Master Gardner
Tuition: $135
Class Description: The Junior Master Gardner program is an innovative youth gardening project developed by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services. The program offers horticultural and environmental science education, as well as leadership and life skills development through fun and creative activities. This program is committed to helping young people become good gardeners and good citizens so they can make a positive contribution to their community and family. Students who complete both the fall and spring semester of the JMG course and participate in our class service project will be eligible for Junior Master Gardner certification, to be presented at the conclusion of Spring semester. If your student has already completed level I certification, they will be working towards their level II certification.
