Our classes are aimed at helping students apply knowledge from core subjects in a hands-on learning environment. Classes add supplementary and enrichment support to any curriculum program.

Any class options that are offered both semesters, or have been offered in previous years, will have different topics for each class meeting.

  • Drama

    This class is offered in a half-day sign-up option with book club.

    Meeting Dates: 8/22, 8/29, 9/5, 9/12, 9/19, 9/26, 10/3, 10/10

    Time: 12:30-2:00pm

    Tuition: $200

    We will meet once a week over the course of 8 weeks, to explore and practice various areas of the theatre world, such as improvisation and character development. Through drama, we will develop oral communication skills, motivation and commitment, cooperative skills, and so much more! At the end of the two months, we will put on a small production to show off all that we have learned

  • Book Club

    This class is offered in a half-day sign-up option with Drama.

    Meeting Dates: 8/22, 8/29, 9/5, 9/12, 9/19, 9/26, 10/3, 10/10

    Time: 2:15-3:15pm

    Tuition: $120

    Over the course of these eight weeks, we will be reading through an age-appropriate book together while discussing the different parts of the narrative such as conflict, mood, setting, etc. We will also ask and discuss upper-level thinking questions about the story. At the end of the course, the students will each put together a story board and we will have a small reading fair!

    READERS OF ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME!! (Enjoy reading or listening to the audiobook.)

    STUDENTS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING THEIR OWN COPIES OF THEIR BOOK CLUB BOOKS, EITHER IN PRINT OR AUDIO VERSION

    Book Title: The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin

    This Newberry Medal award winning mystery novel was recognized as that year's most distinguished contribution to American children's literature.

    ASSIGNED CHAPTERS SHOULD BE READ PRIOR TO EACH CLASS MEETING (with the exception of the first class meeting) IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS ACTIVITIES.

    8/22 - First Day of Class

    8/29 - Have Chapters 1-5 read

    9/5 - Have Chapters 6-10 read

    9/12 - Have Chapters 11-15 read

    9/19 - Have Chapters 16-20 read

    9/26 - Have Chapters 21-25 read

    10/3 - Have Chapters 26-30 read

    10/10 - Work on Storyboards and have a small reading fair

  • Juniors Unit Studies

    Meeting Dates: 9/21 , 11/30, & 12/7

    Time: 9:00am-2:00pm

    Tuition: $120

    September -Games and Puzzles - Join us as we flex our brain muscles through games and puzzles of all different kinds! We will be solving everything from sudoku puzzles and jigsaw puzzles to riddles and brain teasers! This class is a great way to get students thinking outside of the box while also incorporating problem solving skills.

    November - Music Appreciation - In this class, we will explore the incredible world of music! We will learn about exciting new topics such as famous composers, unique instruments, and the history of music. We will also take time to create and enjoy music using the new information we gain through singing, games, playing instruments, and more!

    December - Art Appreciation - In this class, we will explore the breathtaking world of visual arts! We will learn about exciting new topics such as famous artists, methods used to create art, and the history of art. We will use the techniques and information we learn about to create our own pieces of art. This class will allow creativity to thrive and instill an appreciation for the visual arts!

  • Junior Master Gardner

    Meeting Dates: 8/22, 8/29, 9/5, 9/12, 9/19, 9/26, 10/3, 10/10

    Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

    Tuition: $135

    The Junior Master Gardner program is an innovative youth gardening project developed by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services. The program offers horticultural and environmental science education, as well as leadership and life skills development through fun and creative activities. This program is committed to helping young people become good gardeners and good citizens so they can make a positive contribution to their community and family. Students who complete both the fall and spring semester of the JMG course and participate in our class service project will be eligible for Junior Master Gardner certification, to be presented at the conclusion of Spring semester.

  • Foraging Unit Study

    Meeting Dates: 11/6

    Time: 9:00am-12:00pm

    Tuition: $50

    The Foraging unit study will get you started foraging wild edibles and medicinal plants and herbs safely, ethically, and sustainably. You will be guided through the process of identifying edible and medicinal plants and differentiating them from toxic lookalikes (and toxic plants in general).

  • Tutoring

    Private tutoring session can be scheduled with Jenny by contacting her directly.

    August - Math Facts/Games and PE - Let's start a new school year with a fun day of math review and games! We will practice math skills, play math games, minute to win it games, and more. We will include PE activities in some of the math games.

    October - Menu Math & Restaurant Business - We will be practicing math skills throughout the day. We will explore how math is used in menus, grocery shopping, cooking, and much more!

  • Beginner Sewing 1-Day Class

    Beginner Sewing (Ages 9+)

    September 7 * 1-Day Class

    Small Class Group (6 max)

    9am-2pm

    $40 + $15 supply fee

    If there’s one homesteading skill that everyone should know, regardless of gender or age, it’s sewing. Join Mrs. Ruth in a small group setting for this one-day class where students will learn sewing machine basics and make small take-home projects. Come join this laid back, fun experience, and leave with an introduction to an invaluable skill.

  • Intermediate Sewing 1-Day Class

    September 14 * 1-Day Class

    Small Class Group (6 max)

    9am-2pm

    $40 + $15 supply fee

    This 1-day class will tackle larger projects that require a base knowledge of sewing and machine usage. Students will be in a small class setting of only 4-6 students allowing opportunities to work one on one with Mrs. Ruth to create their projects.
